Our Illinois Family Law Practice

At Bochte, Kuzniar & Navigato, P.C., we are prepared to help our clients resolve a myriad of family law issues, including but not limited to:

Prenuptial/Postnuptial Agreements - Prenuptial agreements are legally binding agreements that couples enter into before marriage. Conversely, postnuptial agreements, while also legally binding, are entered into after a marriage is effectuated. Both prenuptial and postnuptial agreements establish guidelines for property, assets, and debt in the event of a future divorce.

Domestic Partnerships - Domestic partnership agreements are sometimes entered into when two individuals decide to live together without the legal benefits of marriage. Domestic partnership agreements, also known as cohabitation agreements, are helpful in situations where there are children involved, one partner owns property, or in establishing responsibilities related to child care, care for elderly parents or care for pets.

Paternity Cases – These may include unmarried fathers seeking rights to their child or, an unmarried mother who wishes to enforce parental rights against an uninvolved father.

Adoptions, Guardianships, and Grandparent Visitation Rights – Adoptions, whether an overseas or domestic adoption case or a stepparent adoption matter, can be extremely challenging in that they involve the termination of parental rights. Moreover, guardianships (durable yet complex cases involving permanent residence and/or caregiving by another person or persons) and grandparent visitation matters can also be complex, especially when one or both parents contest it.

In addition to these primary practice areas, our firm also has successfully managed cases involving temporary orders, injunctions, orders of protection, restraining orders, domestic violence, child support and custody disputes, guardianship, and post-judgment modifications. For more than 40 years, our firm has been dedicated to serving the family law needs of both men and women. Our team of attorneys is dedicated to providing current, fair, and accurate legal guidance through any difficult family law matter.
